EJHL ALUMNI UPDATE

AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE: John DiSalvatore (Houston Aeros/ Springfield Pics) was nominated for AHL Player of the Week. 

WALTER BROWN AWARD SEMIFINALISTS NAMED: The Gridiron Club of Boston announced its sixteen semifinalists for the Walter Brown Award, presented each year to the best American-born college hockey player in New England. Among the nominees are two Eastern Junior Hockey League alumni: Bobby Butler (New Hampshire/ Junior Bruins) and Nick Johnson (Sacred Heart/ Springfield Pics). 

HOCKEY HUMANITARIAN NOMINEES NAMED: Eighteen players have been nominated for the 2010 BNY Mellon Wealth Management Hockey Humanitarian Award, honoring college hockey's finest citizen. Among those nominated are Bobby Butler (New Hampshire/ Junior Bruins) and Barry Goers (UMASS-Lowell/ Green Mountain Glades). 

HOCKEY EAST MONTHLY HONORS: Former Junior Bruins Bobby Butler (New Hampshire) and Kory Falite (UMASS-Lowell) were the runners-up for Hockey East Player of the Month. Brian Foster (UNH/ New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs) was named Defensive Player of the Month. 

HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY HONORS: Ross Gaudet (Boston University/ Bridgewater Bandits), Brian Foster (UNH/ New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs), Dan Meyers (UMASS/ Green Mountain Glades), and Paul Thompson (UNH/ Monarchs) were named to the Hockey East Weekly Honor Roll. 

ATLANTIC HOCKEY WEEKLY HONORS: Cameron Burt (RIT/ New England Huskies) was named to the Atlantic Hockey weekly honor roll.

BEANPOT TOURNAMENT: The 578h Annual Beanpot Hockey Tournament is underway in Boston and seventeen Eastern Junior Hockey League alumni will be participating. Defending Champion Boston University will feature Kevin Gilroy (South Shore Kings), Ryan Ruikka (Jersey Hitmen), Ross Gaudet (Bridgewater Bandits), Sean Escobedo (New York Apple Core) and Ben Rosen (Kings). Barry Almeida (New England Jr. Falcons), Edwin Shea (Junior Bruins), Tommy Atkinson (Bruins), Patch Alber (Bruins), and Brian Dumoulin (Monarchs) skate for Boston College. Northeastern University has the largest EJHL contingent, made up of Mike Hewkin (Hitmen), David Strathman (Valley Jr. Warriors), Robbie Vrolyk (Springfield) and former Bruins Jim Driscoll, Chris Donovan, and Steve Morra. Rence Coassin (Monarchs) will carry the flag for Harvard.
